Relationships
Relationships will be some of the biggest highlights in middle school. They can cause your happiest moments, but also ckisss.jpgause the most grief. They will start rumors, and give others a chance to gossip. With a bit of advice, these relationships can be more bearable, so here it goes:
  • Remember-You are still in Middle School. You don't have to be looking for a wife or husband. At this point in time, just relax, and be happy with your boyfriend/girlfriend.
  • Keep in mind that commitment is scary for most middle schoolers. The thought of being bogged down with one person for any surpass-able amount of time will make someone want to run away.
  • Break-ups will hurt! It will make you feel like everything is ending, and that you can't go on. But remember, everything happens for a reason, and so ergo, that just means that your newly acquainted ex wasn't your "one-and-only".
  • Don't hate your ex. Just because you guys didn't work out as a couple, doesn't mean you can't turn out to be great friends. You guys will still have all the secrets you shared, all the great times, and all the great memories. Now why would you waste it on hating someone that wasn't meant to be your lover for the rest of your life?
  • Trust Your Boy/Girlfriend. If you can't trust them, than they can't trust you. Without trust, any relationship, young or mature, can't go anywhere. On the same token, by trustworthy for your significant other. For the relationship to work, you both need to be putting your all into it.
  • Most of all remember: Be happy. Don't just stay with somebody so that you can have the title of "In a relationship" with somebody. Having that title isn't worth not being happy.
So, that is the best advice for a relationship in middle school. Hopefully, these tips helped. Just remember: Stay happy, that is the key to any good relationship.

Bad Relationships
If you ever feel that your relationship is starting to get abusive, uncomfortable, or too sexual, you need to end it IMMEDIATELY and tell an adult you trust. Sexual/domestic abuse can be a problem in relationships of any age, and everyone deserves a happy relationship with their boy/girlfriend. Seeds Of Hope is an Iowa organization that deals with this type of thing, and they regularly speak at schools about it.
